i can never ask for more but to spend my birthday with my loved ones.
and i did this year 🙂
sailorboy surprised me again. this year, i expected nothing because we decided to put a full stop to our staycations and save money for our future. but hey hey hey, he surprised me with a night at changi village hotel. we were just having a farewell-for-chris and birthday lunch at a seafood restaurant at changi village. yums yums yums, i was happy enough because it was my favourite ;p
tadah. chilli crabs with mantou and everything else was my 2nd favourite. *grins*
my popular quote in life goes like this: anything that makes Victoria’s tummy happy, makes her happy too.
so indeed, i was happy (but very sleepy from food coma) after lunch. thats when we parted from bff and chris, W said he had something planned for my day. i was pretty excited. haha. he took a right turn and just 200m away, he turned left – into the lobby of the hotel. “hmmmm? we are staying here?! i thought we promised not to do staycations anymore!” and he replied, “nono, we are not. we are just going for a spa upstairs.” but i found out that we are having a sleepover as soon as he parked his car and took a huge bag out with my clothes. (sneakyyyy!!!)
i was happy. haha. i could do with a little staycation here and there. what’s better than having room service, a beautiful quiet gym and awesome hotel food? what i think was THE BEST for our stay there – the executive lounge. holy moly. he booked the junior suite for us, the room was big and spacious and nice. loved the see-through clear glass wall beside our bathtub (i could watch tv and soak at the same time) and our suite comes with the club benefits. free flow of cocktails, alcohol and food at certain timings at the lounge. and i love being exclusive where it is not crowded with everyone else but us. no kids screaming or crying but just sounds of CNN news and fork/spoon clashing.
the comfy big bed.
a paranomic view of the room.
my favourite part of the room was that glass window. haha. i can multi-task at the same time.
we headed to the gym in the evening.
did a workout tgt and it was a killer but i feel good now 🙂
i had another little surprise from a very nice staff at the lounge. after he heard that we are here are on birthday staycation, he offered to give me a wine as a little birthday gift 🙂 i was really touched. he did asked if i had a cake already, i was pretty defensive when i said “oh yes yes… *point at the little slice of cake from the buffet spread i took* THIS is enough cake for a big girl like me”
haha i think that was why he offered wine instead.
we were supposed to go out to get dinner back to the hotel but after the sumptuous cheese dinner i had with lots of wine, we were bloated. ended the night with a back-to-back movie of Jurassic Park. it is W’s favourite movie and he acted like a little boy. it was funny and cute at the same time.
i have really bad stamina to sit infront of the tv for long hours. i always end up in dream land. haha. but the bed was so good…
and i heard the hotel had an infinity pool so we decided to check it out the next morning after breakfast.
it was actually an average pool. nothing much to an infinity view.
managed to admire the beautiful pool-wedding set up. dreamy!
we had TWO breakfast in the morning – one downstairs at the main lobby but the food wasn’t really fab so we decided to head back to the lounge where the food was a better choice.
we are gluttons and we can SERIOUSLY eat.
then i fell into food coma after i returned to the room. had a late check out but i was dreading to go home and head back to reality.
however, i am really thankful and happy with my little staycation 🙂
thanks baby, you do anything and everything to put a smile on my face.
i did have a nice dinner with my family at Swensens! 😀 i love Swensens for many reasons – it makes me happy no matter when i go. it brings back many beautiful happy childhood memories. whenever it was my birthday, i will have dinner with my family there no matter what. a classic earthquake would be my bday cake. my sailor made this happen for me this birthday too 🙂 can’t express how happy and thankful i am.
i am 23 and i am gonna conquer the world one day! (muahahahaa)
